About the position

The General Manager at Union Square Events is responsible for enhancing profitability by leading team development and implementing sales growth strategies. This role emphasizes operational excellence and aims to create elevated experiences for both team members and guests. The General Manager will inspire inclusivity and strategic planning while overseeing the operations at Shake Shack in Monmouth Park, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team to increase sales and profits by overseeing Shack P&L, controlling costs, and promoting operational excellence.
• Drives people planning, including recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performing, diverse team.
• Displays effective leadership and adaptability to meet evolving business demands, guiding the team through challenges.
• Delivers a remarkable guest and team experience through solid operations execution, improving efficiency and productivity.
• Adheres to company policies, health codes, and food safety certifications, setting an example for the team.
• Holds self and team accountable, improving management in shift management to increase results.
• Encourages an inclusive environment to engage the team and retain top talent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Safety and Hospitality or equivalent experience (preferred).
• 2-4 years of work experience in a related field.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
• 4-6 years of related work experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Food handler certification according to local jurisdiction (strongly preferred).

• Ability to learn and train others on all aspects of Shack operations.
• Skill in fostering hospitality and encouraging others to do the same.
• Ability to mentor and develop others.
