About the position

The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing hotel operations to maximize profits while ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. This role involves overseeing various aspects of hotel management, including staff training, financial reporting, sales and marketing strategies, and maintaining quality standards throughout the property.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates to ensure performance aligns with brand standards.
• Tour and visually inspect property daily to monitor conditions and cleanliness.
• Supervise the development and revision of business plans, budgets, and financial reports.
• Develop and implement sales and marketing plans in conjunction with the sales leader.
• Analyze occupancy and revenue reports to maximize room revenue with revenue management professionals.
• Maintain positive rapport with associates and customers, communicating regularly with stakeholders.
• Handle associate issues in accordance with human resources policies.
• Participate in community affairs to maintain a positive public image for the hotel.
• Ensure safety practices and emergency procedures are followed.
• Monitor quality assurance scores and guest feedback, training associates accordingly.
• Create action plans to improve guest service and address deficiencies.
• Oversee sales department operations and participate in sales calls.
• Engage with local associations and the Chamber of Commerce for networking opportunities.
• Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Previous hotel management experience required.
