About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Subway restaurant, ensuring high levels of customer service, staff management, and financial performance. This role involves recruiting and training employees, managing budgets, and maintaining store cleanliness and food quality. The General Manager plays a crucial role in creating a positive work environment and promoting the restaurant within the community.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage day-to-day operations for a single Subway unit.
• Maintain a high level of customer service to ensure profitability.
• Recruit and properly select employees by screening, interviewing, and checking references.
• Monitor and correct store employees' appearance and customer service practices.
• Provide employee training according to company guidelines and cross-train employees.
• Evaluate employee performance and discipline or terminate as necessary.
• Produce the weekly work schedule and adhere to company policies.
• Keep labor and food costs in line with budget and calculate payroll.
• Handle all monetary transactions and bank deposits responsibly.
• Supervise all employees in product preparation and guest service phases.
• Maintain superior food quality and reduce energy costs.
• Actively promote Subway within the community and exceed customer expectations.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints quickly and equitably.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of retail or restaurant supervision experience.
• Experience working with P&L statements, budgets, and cost controls.
• Basic PC knowledge.
• Experience in handling applicable government agencies.
• Certified by NRA (or local health department) in food handling preferred.
• Successful completion of the Subway manager training program.
