About the position

The General Manager at Dave's Hot Chicken is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that all activities align with the business plan and operational standards. This role involves team building, training, and maintaining high levels of productivity and morale among staff. The General Manager is accountable for all restaurant activities, including guest satisfaction, staff performance, and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and planning of everyday business operations.
  • Support and direct the Restaurant Management Team and Team Members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Create, execute, and follow-up on the Restaurant's Business Plan.
  • Train new staff and ensure ongoing training for existing staff as needed.
  • Conduct required Ops Walks and Q&A checks to identify and correct areas of opportunity.
  • Organize shift schedules for Team Members and monitor attendance and time off.
  • Ensure compliance with cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements.
  • Delegate daily cleanliness tasks and ensure they are completed effectively.
  • Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a neat appearance by adhering to the DHC Uniform Policy.
  • Provide direction and feedback to maintain productivity and morale.
  • Institute and follow cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and oversee daily tasks of the team.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and other operational functions.
  • Develop strategies for workplace efficiency and goal achievement.
  • Plan, organize, and implement daily operational routines with the management team.
  • Complete all required administrative duties and daily paperwork.
  • Ensure the restaurant is opened and closed according to DHC Policy.
  • Establish an environment of trust and open communication among the team.
  • Model positive behavior and set an example for the team.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old and fluent in English.
  • Current ServSafe Certification is required.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager or General Manager is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a driver's license, and proof of insurance.
  • Excellent organization, planning, time management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current student or high school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Certified in all stations and Management positions following the DHC Training Program.
