About the position

The General Manager at Murphy Club 24 LLC is responsible for leading and supporting a team to deliver excellent customer experiences while driving revenue growth. This role involves overseeing the entire operation of the gym, ensuring financial sustainability, customer satisfaction, and effective management of daily operations. The General Manager will also be accountable for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and will earn monthly bonuses based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, lead, manage, communicate, train, and develop staff including Assistant Managers, Front Desk employees, and Childcare Associates.
  • Make phone calls to prospective members and manage overall sales numbers at the location.
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and ensure staff follow customer service guidelines.
  • Support staff development and growth within the company.
  • Address issues involving employees and members in a timely manner.
  • Promote a superior customer experience and actively market Club4Fitness in local communities.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure adequate supplies in the club.
  • Oversee employee payroll and scheduling to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance of the facility to pass inspections.
  • Complete monthly and weekly paperwork and ensure accuracy of club documentation.
  • Manage team communication and provide regular feedback for motivation and performance management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in a fitness, hospitality, or retail environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2- or 4-year degree preferred.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills, particularly in the fitness industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR/AED certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a high-volume atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of fitness software and web-based programming related to sales.
