About the position

The General Manager at Sbarro Fashion Outlets of Chicago is responsible for achieving restaurant objectives by supervising and directing the activities of subordinate employees, including managers and team members. This role ensures compliance with company policies and local laws while effectively communicating with the restaurant management team to drive sales and profits. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of store operations, including food safety, employee management, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Train, monitor, and reinforce food safety procedures to subordinate managers and team members.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation requirements according to federal, state, and local standards.
• Hire, develop, evaluate, coach, and counsel managers and team members in accordance with company policies.
• Manage entire store operations, including systems usage, recipe adherence, payroll, and guest interactions.
• Oversee profit and loss management through cash control, inventory maintenance, and financial report reviews.
• Take inventory and order/purchase food and supplies while applying cost control measures.
• Generate schedules for managers and team members to ensure appropriate coverage for sales and profits.
• Engage in local restaurant marketing efforts.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of restaurant or supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a senior-level restaurant position.
• Certification with the appropriate state or local health department.
• Possession of appropriate license and permit to sell alcoholic beverages (where applicable).
