About the position

The General Manager at Bob Evans Restaurants is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, and leading the staff to deliver exceptional service. This role focuses on driving profitability, managing costs, and fostering a positive work environment while maintaining high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and staff of the restaurant.
  • Execute all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems.
  • Provide leadership, direction, training, and development to all direct reports.
  • Build sales and drive restaurant profitability.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees.
  • Shape the culture of the restaurant and ensure high employee engagement.
  • Coach and mentor team members for success and guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate sales performance and anticipated variances to the management team.
  • Champion sales building activities and suggestive selling.
  • Maximize table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour.
  • Meet and greet guests; resolve food quality/service issues.
  • Maintain efficient operations and appropriate cost controls.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, health and safety codes, and company policies.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure quality food and cleanliness standards.
  • Control day-to-day operations including cash control and inventory management.
  • Manage food and labor costs, and review financial reports.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role is required.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a family, fast-food, or casual dining restaurant is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional guest service.
  • Excellent computer skills and basic business math skills.
