About the position

The General Manager will oversee the operations of a casual dining and event hosting business, ensuring exceptional dining experiences through effective leadership and management of kitchen operations, event execution, staff, and customer relations. The role requires a strong background in food service and hospitality, with a focus on quality and service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of event operations, including sales, set-up, and coordination with internal and external event contributors.
  • Lead and manage all business administrative functions, including human resources, financial services, and general office.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee kitchen management, ensuring food quality, presentation, and safety standards are met.
  • Oversee food and beverage procurement and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Oversee cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Oversee sales team to achieve revenue goals by growing sales of existing products and developing new products.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the property and the facility.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise staff to foster a positive work environment and promote team collaboration.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to maximize profitability.
  • Utilize Spot-On POS system for managing transactions, tracking sales, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Prepare and manage monthly financial performance statements and develop annual operating budget.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Maintain state liquor license for the establishment.
  • Collaborate with culinary teams to create innovative menu items that align with market trends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food service management or a similar role within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with Spot-On POS or similar point-of-sale systems is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with staff and customers.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish.
  • ServSafe® Certified or a Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate issued by the State of Minnesota.
  • Qualified to hold a state of Minnesota liquor license.
  • Minnesota Alcohol Seller Course certified or capable of becoming certified.
  • A background in hospitality is highly desirable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in restaurant or hospitality management (2 years preferred).
  • Food Safety Certification (preferred).
