About the position

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the restaurant, ensuring that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are upheld. This role involves motivating staff, providing exceptional customer service, and demonstrating strong leadership abilities. General Managers typically work 40-45 hours per week, with two days off during the week, and are expected to manage various operational tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Completes and posts staff work schedules.
• Recruits, rewards, and terminates staff as needed in partnership with the Director of Operations.
• Communicates changes in food preparation formulas and standards to staff.
• Ensures compliance with local and national health and food safety codes, as well as company safety and security policies.
• Maintains business records as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures and analyzes these records to increase sales.
• Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
• Identifies and contacts prospective customers to promote sales.
• Plans special events and promotions.
• Completes University of Subway® courses as directed.
• Maintains accurate records of inventory and money control systems.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in restaurant management (Required)
• Ability to commute to Williamsburg, VA 23185 (Required)
