About the position

The General Manager at Playa Bowls is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring high-quality food service, and maintaining a positive customer experience. This role involves managing staff, monitoring food quality, and ensuring compliance with health regulations while fostering a fun and engaging work environment. The General Manager will also play a key role in employee training and development, as well as driving sales and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for staff.
  • Appraise employee performance and address complaints.
  • Check products for consistency and quality.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.
  • Monitor food preparation methods and presentation to ensure company standards are met.
  • Monitor budgets and staff timesheets.
  • Schedule staff hours and assign duties for efficient food preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and fire regulations.
  • Maintain records required by government agencies regarding sanitation.
  • Establish and evaluate standards for personnel performance and customer service.
  • Review operational issues to improve service and performance.
  • Perform food preparation or service tasks as needed.
  • Maintain food and equipment inventories and records.
  • Organize and direct worker training programs and evaluate employee performance.
  • Order and purchase equipment and supplies.
  • Assess staffing needs and recruit staff using ADP Recruitment platform.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs for equipment and services.
  • Utilize point of sale cash register and manage financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in sales and customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control and marketing principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Experience in administration and management principles.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and personnel management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the food service industry.
  • Familiarity with point of sale systems.
