About the position

The General Manager position at a National Food Service Management company involves overseeing the Food Nutrition/Dining Program for a major client in Southeast Philadelphia. This role is crucial for maintaining operational systems and procedures that ensure the efficient service of food to over 6,000 daily customers. The General Manager will be responsible for budget management, team motivation, and compliance with health regulations, while also focusing on strategic planning and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain systems and procedures for the ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and serving of food-related products.
  • Manage program within all budgetary guidelines.
  • Motivate, train, and manage subordinate Team Members.
  • Provide necessary tools for the team to perform at a satisfactory level.
  • Maintain a harmonious working relationship with Team Members in accordance with Company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health regulations and ordinances.
  • Prepare all schools for any state or local board of health inspection.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and indirect reports.
  • Develop big picture strategy for the food service program.
  • Oversee budgeting and P&L management.
  • Implement food service strategy and manage client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years in Educational Food Service Management experience
  • Familiarity with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) standards
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring.
