About the position

The General Manager will oversee the success of the store and its team, focusing on performance and customer service. This role involves coaching and training staff, managing marketing efforts, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and fostering a growth-oriented environment. The General Manager will report to the District Director of Operations and will be responsible for various operational aspects, including security, loss prevention, and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, lead, and develop all store employees to obtain new business and increase store growth.
  • Identify local marketing strategies and obtain referrals to steer growth and build revenue.
  • Enforce adherence to quality standards, procedures, and local and state laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and maintain office security including cash management and loss prevention.
  • Examine, evaluate, and process loan/pawn applications and assess risk within established limits.
  • Participate in the selection, review, hiring, and retention of new employees.
  • Develop work schedules in accordance with budget, workloads, and store needs.
  • Handle complex customer situations with integrity and professionalism.
  • Monitor and maintain internal and external store appearance and address basic facilities needs.
  • Work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment and handle multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, financial, service, or related industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with phone, Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and other systems.
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle for work use.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
