About the position

The General Manager for Extended Stay Hotels is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of a single property to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement in key performance indicators. This role focuses on achieving profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency while maintaining company standards. The General Manager will lead the staff, manage daily hotel operations, and ensure a commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage property operations to ensure optimum performance and continual improvement in key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate and direct staff and everyday hotel operations to achieve profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Maximize revenues and flow through to GOP to meet or exceed budgeted EBITDA.
  • Manage labor standards and property level expenses to achieve maximum flow-through to profit.
  • Monitor collection of in-house guest balances and direct bill receivables, and manage commission payments by vendors.
  • Participate in and monitor monthly inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring purchases are within budget.
  • Work with District Manager and Regional Director of Field Sales to manage sales activities and meet revenue objectives.
  • Identify and seek out potential business in the local market and maintain relationships with local companies.
  • Promote 100% guest satisfaction throughout the property and ensure all guest-related issues are resolved.
  • Recruit and train qualified applicants in accordance with company standards.
  • Communicate policies and procedures to staff and conduct regular meetings for updates and information sharing.
  • Inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of the property to ensure upkeep and appearance.
  • Build solid client relationships in the District and with Managers and staff at each assigned hotel.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required.
  • 4-year degree highly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and software including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to organize multiple projects and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and direct staff to perform daily job tasks.
