About the position

The General Manager at Goldfish Swim School is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the swim school, ensuring high-quality service and a positive environment for both staff and students. This role involves managing staff, pool operations, customer service, and various administrative functions while promoting a fun and engaging workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Directs and controls daily operations to ensure compliance with GSS standard operating procedures.
• Manages staff to ensure high productivity and positive employee satisfaction.
• Trains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction.
• Interacts with Deck Supervisors and Lead Teachers regarding class scheduling and student progress.
• Provides sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
• Oversees retail and vending departments to ensure proper product mix and pricing.
• Trains private party staff to maintain GSS standard operating procedures.
• Gains knowledge in Links software for bookings and class scheduling.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary swim environment through pool operations knowledge.
• Initiates workplace employee activities to improve satisfaction.
• Implements the Emergency Action Plan and trains staff on safety procedures.
• Schedules staff and manages payroll.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or communications preferred.
• 7+ years of management experience preferred.
• Experience as a youth sports instructor, camp counselor, or aquatics instructor/supervisor preferred.
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications required.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves
