About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a McDonald's restaurant owned by an independent franchisee. This role is crucial in ensuring that the restaurant meets McDonald's high standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The General Manager collaborates with their leader to set the restaurant's goals and develops a strategic plan to achieve these objectives. This position requires strong leadership skills as the General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, each responsible for specific areas within the restaurant. The General Manager's role includes helping these managers set their own goals, monitoring their progress, and providing coaching and direction to enhance departmental performance. By improving the efficiency and effectiveness of each department, the overall performance of the restaurant is elevated. In addition to operational responsibilities, the General Manager may also be involved in the hiring and development of Department and Shift Managers, ensuring that the restaurant has a capable team to lead into the future. Ideal candidates for this position should have prior experience as a General Manager in high-volume locations, preferably within the quick service restaurant industry, although experience in hospitality or retail is also valued. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for a managerial position in corporate-owned and operated restaurants. This role is not just about managing the restaurant; it is about inspiring a team, fostering a positive work environment, and driving the business towards success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the restaurant to ensure profitability.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a General Manager in high-volume locations.
  • Background in quick service restaurants, hospitality, or retail is strongly desired.
  • Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned restaurants.
