About the position

The General Manager at Chipotle Mexican Grill is responsible for leading the restaurant team in daily operations while embodying the company's values and culture. This role involves training and developing staff, managing budgets, ensuring safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment. The General Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience and driving sales while maintaining financial responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the restaurant team in successful day-to-day operations by example and as a role model of Chipotle's values and culture.
  • Training and developing Crew, Hourly Managers, and Apprentices through quality orientations and performance evaluations.
  • Coaching and counseling employees on a timely basis.
  • Making decisions on promotions and terminations of employees.
  • Identifying talent, interviewing, and hiring new Crew members.
  • Demonstrating a management style reflective of Chipotle's values and culture.
  • Fostering an environment of teamwork.
  • Communicating company changes and focus to the team.
  • Ensuring employees are paid properly and receive appropriate benefits.
  • Writing schedules that meet business needs while delivering a great customer experience.
  • Building sales and managing the restaurant budget.
  • Compiling, preparing, and maintaining P&L statements, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Implementing and practicing proper payroll procedures.
  • Performing required administrative duties on time, including processing required paperwork.
  • Ensuring safety and security standards are emphasized and adhered to.

Requirements

  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with all restaurant personnel.
  • Clear communication skills and attentive listening to guests and employees.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous restaurant management experience.
  • Experience as a Chipotle Apprentice.
  • Applied experience handling OSHA, EEOC, and health department matters.
  • A.A. or B.A./B.S in a related field.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
