About the position

As a General Manager at Sonic, you will lead the operations of a drive-in restaurant, ensuring a high-quality food service experience for customers. This role involves managing staff, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining compliance with company policies and local regulations. You will be responsible for training employees, handling customer and employee issues, and managing inventory and costs to optimize operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train drive-in restaurant employees.
• Manage and direct the operations of the drive-in to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Handle guest and employee issues and concerns appropriately.
• Manage food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize cost-control and operational efficiency.
• Lead regular team meetings to ensure focus on operational standards and guest service.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports and recordkeeping.
• Develop and implement local marketing and business performance action plans.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable laws.
• Supervise vendor performance and maintain equipment.
• Perform station duties and regular cleaning as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred.
• At least three years of restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service restaurants (QSR).
• Experience in running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Knowledge of labor and employment laws, health and safety regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, decision-making, leadership, and time-management skills.
