About the position

The General Manager is responsible for providing overall direction and management to the operation and administrative aspects of the branch office. This role focuses on driving sales, productivity, and managing P&L and budget to ensure business profitability. The General Manager leads branch personnel, oversees financial activities, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to branch personnel including work allocation, training, and enforcement of internal procedures.
  • Manages daily financial activities including budget preparation, purchasing, and business planning.
  • Drives branch sales, productivity, and cost containment activities.
  • Develops and manages branch operations based on P&L and budget.
  • Manages branch inventory and controls assets.
  • Monitors key metrics and provides guidance to department managers to achieve desired results.
  • Ensures consistency in service activities and installations.
  • Manages communication between the branch office and corporate operations.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Develops a culture of performance management and accountability.
  • Contributes to improving process workflows and maintaining system administration.
  • Remains abreast of technological advances and identifies areas of use in the organization.
  • Travels to various job sites as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required; MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 - 6 years' management experience managing a diverse operation with multiple business units, preferably in the Audio Visual or Construction industry.
  • Experience with budget preparation, fiscal management, and cash management.
  • Proven ability to lead operation initiatives with a results-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt, Continuous Improvement preferred.
  • Familiarity with AV or other electro-mechanical systems a plus.
  • Experience in business/strategic planning and execution, including diligence, acquisition, and integration.
