About the position

The General Manager at Hotel Drover is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hotel operations, ensuring a superior guest experience while fostering a positive work environment. The General Manager will oversee team development, financial management, and community engagement, driving the hotel's success through authentic hospitality and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Implement and uphold Hotel Drover's brand standards and policies.
  • Ensure a superior guest experience by overseeing service quality, guest satisfaction, and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Actively engage with guests to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Develop and manage the hotel's budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Analyze financial reports and metrics to make informed decisions and drive profitability.
  • Oversee daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage services.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as Marriott's operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to drive occupancy and revenue through effective marketing strategies and promotional activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Represent Hotel Drover in the local community, fostering partnerships and promoting the hotel as a premier destination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in hotel management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Marriott systems and operations is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry, including trends, challenges, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with local market dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and develop team members.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
