About the position

The General Manager at Flex LTD is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing activities at the West Columbia, SC site. This role involves planning, directing, and controlling operations to ensure products are manufactured on schedule, within quality standards, and cost goals. The General Manager will also focus on business development, market assessment, and maintaining strategic alliances with key customers, while leading large teams and improving operational metrics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all manufacturing activities at the site.
• Plan, direct, and control operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate operating activities to ensure cost goals are met.
• Estimate manufacturing capacity and manage production and materials control.
• Develop and maintain strategic alliances with key customers.
• Interact with executives and major clients to influence and negotiate effectively.
• Lead cross-functional teams in Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics.
• Improve operational metrics including quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience, with at least 12 years in Operations Management at an Executive level.
• Experience in PCBA, assembly, and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage multi-million-dollar revenues.
• Proven track record of improving operational metrics and reducing costs.
• Strong client interaction skills and experience with ODMs and OEMs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with high and low volume, as well as high and low mix products.
• NPI experience with new customer programs from concept to execution.
• Proven sales development skills.
