About the position

The General Manager at Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) is responsible for overseeing overall site operations and driving manufacturing policies to align with business strategies. This role focuses on developing teams to achieve corporate improvement objectives while ensuring a safe and quality work environment. The General Manager is accountable for plant performance, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality requirements, while implementing best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Make and/or approve major operating, business, engineering, and operational decisions to ensure optimal plant operation.
  • Develop and implement strategic operational/business plans within the plant, analyzing and reporting on achievements and gaps.
  • Manage costs through effective approval of expenditures, overtime, and budget monitoring with monthly variance reporting.
  • Direct the Operations Manager in overall MCC operational capacity and manage customer relationships positively and professionally.
  • Coordinate activities to assure optimum safety compliance, efficiency, reliability, and quality according to established contracts and regulatory laws.
  • Monitor and control plant expenditures on labor, materials, and expenses against budgets, ensuring accurate performance reporting.
  • Ensure correct implementation of project instructions, maintaining visibility of project progress and reporting on concerns related to safety, quality, and HR performance.
  • Coach and mentor team members to align with business needs and develop cost-saving initiatives to improve operational performance.
  • Analyze and interpret data to make sound, cost-effective judgments and participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Operations/Lean Management, preferably in printing with P&L responsibility at the plant level.
  • Experience as a lead change agent in complex transformational activities.
  • Significant experience in implementing complex Lean principles in manufacturing operations.
  • Formal Lean training from an established organization or consulting experience.
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Proven success in designing, implementing, and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs and improving throughput.
