About the position

The General Manager at Jimmy John's is responsible for overseeing all operations of the restaurant, ensuring high-quality customer service and product delivery while maintaining profitability. This role involves managing staff, training new employees, and ensuring efficient food preparation and service. The General Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized environment and executing operational procedures with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of In-shoppers and drivers
  • Manage a staff of approximately 3 to 20 employees, assigning, overseeing, and evaluating work
  • Recommend promotion, transfer, or termination of employees based on performance
  • Hire and train new employees using Observation Checklist & Fast Track
  • Develop employees into managers for those interested
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees
  • Delegate and manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and issuing of all supplies
  • Assist in supervising food preparation, sales, and service operations
  • Forecast food items and estimate consumption per shift
  • Supervise food preparation and service operations while on duty
  • Assist in-shoppers during rush periods to maintain restaurant efficiency
  • Ensure every customer receives world-class customer service
  • Route deliveries and serve drivers to maximize delivery business
  • Complete daily food preparation and opening/closing procedures
  • Execute systems and procedures with 100% integrity and completeness
  • Complete daily and weekly paperwork
  • Be responsible for 100% of the cash drawers during the shift
  • Receive and store product
  • Audit previous shift's systems and procedures for integrity
  • Complete preventative maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies
  • Conduct weekly manager's meetings
  • Be responsible for bi-weekly supply orders
  • Participate in business coach audits

Requirements

  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • 1 year of retail management experience
  • Culinary experience
  • Management skills
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Team management skills
  • Computer skills
