About the position

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Toppers store location, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and team performance. The GM plays a crucial role in financial management, food safety, operational efficiency, and personnel development, while promoting the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs.
  • Ensure accurate completion of financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and local laws.
  • Maintain high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Supervise portion control and minimize waste.
  • Estimate food needs and place orders with distributors.
  • Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect employees and guests.
  • Manage daily operations including scheduling and planning.
  • Maintain fast, accurate service and positive guest experiences.
  • Resolve guest complaints and ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop and oversee local store marketing efforts.
  • Ensure building and equipment are well-maintained and clean.
  • Provide direction to employees on operational issues.
  • Develop employees through feedback and performance reviews.
  • Maintain staffing needs and prepare schedules.
  • Conduct interviews and oversee training of new Team Members.
  • Inspire teamwork and cooperation among staff.

Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • ServSafe certified and uphold all ServSafe guidelines.
  • 2 years of restaurant or retail management experience or completion of Manager in Training (MIT) Program.
  • Proficient in food planning, preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
