About the position

The General Manager at Grooves of Houston is responsible for leading and managing a team of approximately 90 staff members in a dynamic restaurant, nightlife, and private event venue. This role focuses on ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high-quality food and service standards, and overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills while fostering a positive work environment and driving business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, develop, and train Management and Team Members to company standards of providing a consistent and exceptional guest experience
  • Maintain the integrity of Grooves high-quality food, drinks, and service
  • Influence successful execution of day-to-day operations using solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Represent vision and values and create a respectful, positive, and professional work environment
  • Lead various Team meetings to build Community, reinforce commitments and accountability, implement continuous improvement, discuss business updates, and engage with staff
  • Make recommendations and/or final employment decisions related to hiring, discipline, training, promotion, and separation processes
  • Review and approve all Team Member schedules in a timely manner
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and compliance and train to the standard of the operating systems
  • Continuously identify areas of improvement for the business, build necessary tools and resources, and execute them effectively
  • Analyze financial metrics by collaborating with other department Leaders to ensure monthly targets are achieved
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, coach, and counsel employees through the excellence of teamwork and culture
  • Accountable for the overall success and results of business performance, customer satisfaction, and associated activities
  • Oversee that maintenance, repairs, set-up, and overall upkeep of the Grooves facility are being handled and executed properly
  • Ensure establishment compliance with safety, labor laws, and company policies and practices

Requirements

  • Experience working as a General or Operations Manager in a Restaurant, Lounge, Nightlife, or Hospitality environment
  • Confident and prompt decision-making skills
  • Ability to professionally resolve conflict
  • Competent computer and technology skills
  • Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
  • Adaptable to high-traffic volume
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Maintains the highest customer service standards
  • Works well under pressure
  • Organized, flexible, self-motivated, and willing to work long hours
  • Understanding of all positions within the business to provide guidance and support as necessary
  • Strong administrative, communication, and leadership skills
