About the position

The General Manager at IHOP is responsible for directing the operations of an assigned restaurant unit. This role involves executing financial objectives, local marketing strategies, and ensuring high standards of guest service and human resource management. The General Manager will lead the team, manage performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute annual financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives for the assigned unit.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain team members.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching and administer the restaurant hourly compensation plan.
  • Deliver performance appraisals and communicate company policies.
  • Ensure food safety and presentation compliance with SOP standards.
  • Follow and enforce proper register and cash-handling procedures.
  • Implement national and local marketing promotions.
  • Complete all required reports and paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Maintain personnel files with appropriate employment and legal documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Experience managing a profit and loss statement and making adjustments accordingly.
  • Management experience in casual dining or a similar segment of at least 3 years.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to operate restaurant equipment including BOH and FOH systems.
