About the position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Dispensary, ensuring compliance with medical marijuana regulations, and managing staff and inventory. This role involves interfacing with patients and caregivers, administering medical marijuana products, and maintaining accurate records. The General Manager also plays a key role in developing company culture, implementing HR policies, and ensuring employee safety and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Interface and consult with qualified patients and caregivers.
  • Administer approved medical marijuana products.
  • Oversee all activities related to the operation of the Dispensary.
  • Ensure compliance with MA medical marijuana rules and regulations.
  • Supervise dispensary staff training and education.
  • Monitor all point of sale transactions.
  • Manage patient specific logs and inventory.
  • Order new inventory and supplies.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and patient-staff conflicts.
  • Develop Dispensary privacy policies and procedures.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals.
  • Maintain records required by public health law.
  • Implement quality assurance plans to prevent dispensing errors.
  • Manage policies for retesting and disposal of medical marijuana products.
  • Assist with implementing security systems for tracking and record keeping.
  • Develop an employee-oriented company culture emphasizing quality and teamwork.
  • Implement HR policies and programs in support of company initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations and respond to employee relation issues.
  • Create organizational development and employee training programs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and monitor employee productivity.
  • Implement HR related software systems in collaboration with IT partners.
  • Recruit and retain top quality staff for each department.
  • Manage talent acquisition and workforce management plan.
  • Build a quality assurance program tied to performance reviews.
  • Develop compensation and benefit programs to motivate employees.
  • Manage leave administration practices.
  • Maintain facilities conducive to employee productivity.
  • Provide company-wide communication and manage change.
  • Ensure employee safety, wellness, and health & welfare.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing a dispensary or similar retail environment.
  • Knowledge of medical marijuana regulations and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in HR practices and employee relations.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Proficient in inventory management and record keeping.
