About the position

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of a full-service restaurant located in Midtown Manhattan, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer service, and a vibrant atmosphere. This role involves leading a diverse team, managing financials, and driving marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant management.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a diverse team of employees, fostering a culture of teamwork and exceptional service.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation are consistently met.
  • Develop and implement strategies to boost sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and sales.
  • Manage inventory, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to innovate and create unforgettable dining experiences for guests.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely communication to staff and Director of Operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General Manager (5+ years) or in a similar leadership role within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant management, operations, and financials.
  • Experience administrating Point-of-Sale systems (Toast POS preferred).
  • Proficient with basic computer software skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of New York City's restaurant scene is a must.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods of time.
