About the position

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the success of your store and team by setting high standards for performance and customer service. Your role involves coaching and training your team to achieve company objectives, increase revenue, and develop their skills. You will also manage marketing efforts, ensure store security and loss prevention, enforce quality standards, and review transactions to foster growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, lead, and develop all store employees to obtain new business and increase store growth.
  • Identify local marketing strategies and use business-to-business partnership opportunities to obtain referrals and host community events.
  • Enforce adherence to quality standards, procedures, and local and state laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and maintain office security including cash management and loss prevention.
  • Examine, evaluate, and process loan/pawn applications and assess risk within established limits.
  • Participate in the selection, review, hiring, and retention of new employees.
  • Develop work schedules in accordance with budget, workloads, and store needs.
  • Handle complex customer situations with integrity and professionalism.
  • Monitor and maintain internal and external store appearance and address basic facilities needs.
  • Work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment and handle multiple tasks to meet performance standards.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to communicate with customers and team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, financial, service, or related industries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with phone, Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and other systems
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama)
  • Background check required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this position, including standing up to 90% of the time and moving up to 25 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and may be required for certain locations.
