About the position

The General Manager at Landscape Workshop is responsible for overseeing the performance and compliance of their branch, ensuring a culture of safety and excellence in customer service. This role involves managing financial results, developing talent, and maintaining the company's values and value proposition across all operations. The General Manager plays a crucial role in delivering a consistent customer experience and achieving branch goals through effective leadership and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate company values and value propositions through daily actions.
  • Communicate company values, policies, and procedures to Account Managers, Business Development Manager, and Branch Administrator.
  • Ensure branch culture aligns with the company's overall performance culture.
  • Drive safety initiatives and enforce a safety culture within the branch.
  • Deliver financial results consistent with the budget by managing labor and driving new sales.
  • Ensure customer retention by delivering quality service and managing customer interactions effectively.
  • Clearly communicate annual and long-term goals to supervised staff and monitor progress.
  • Develop understanding of account managers' strengths and weaknesses to aid in their development.
  • Maintain a constant recruiting effort to address personnel needs.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience managing others at the production level, including recruiting, hiring, performance evaluation, and training.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop people.
  • Demonstrated skill in sales and customer service with at least three years of direct service customer experience.
  • Ability to perform takeoffs and estimate maintenance jobs.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously for at least three years.
  • Comfort with numbers and ability to read and work with financial statements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two- or four-year horticultural or related degree.
  • Industry certifications or additional experience in lieu of a degree.
