About the position

The General Manager (GM) position at Planet Fitness is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the gym, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. The GM plays a crucial role in promoting the club's mission and vision, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service and cleanliness. This position requires strong leadership skills and a background in fitness or gym management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control the day-to-day operations of the club according to set policies and procedures.
• Actively promote the philosophy, mission statement, and vision of Planet Fitness.
• Oversee the entire operation of the gym and ensure all administrative tasks and reports are completed.
• Supervise all staff and schedule them to adequately cover needs.
• Train new employees and prepare annual employee evaluations.
• Ensure member service and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the club.
• Authorize all expenditures and manage marketing efforts, including planning and placing ads.
• Conduct bank deposits and prepare all administrative forms and reports.
• Meet and greet potential members, providing them with tours of the club.

Requirements

• Prior supervisory experience and strong leadership qualities.
• Familiarity with a gym environment or a fitness background.
• Solid communication and organization skills.
• Ability to learn and perform every function in the club.
