About the position

Firehouse Subs is looking for our next great General Manager! This position is fully accountable for the profitable operation of a Firehouse Subs® Restaurant while adhering to all company guidelines and regulations. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably, while also providing top-notch customer service and maintaining a positive work environment. You will lead a team that is passionate about hearty and flavorful food and heartfelt service, and you will play a key role in hiring, training, and developing a high-performance team. This role requires open availability, including the ability to work weekends and some nights, and involves physical demands such as being on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. In this role, you will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards. You will also be responsible for managing food and labor costs, understanding profit and loss statements, and operating the restaurant at maximum profitability. Your leadership will help create a cheerful and fun work environment that aligns with Firehouse Subs® beliefs and values. You will coordinate and implement company initiatives and marketing strategies, participate in community affairs, and represent Firehouse Subs® in a professional manner at all times. Additionally, you will maintain restaurant equipment and ensure all required programs and reports are accurate and completed on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the restaurant is in full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide leadership to the restaurant team to meet standards of superior guest service, quality, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure profitability by operating within established guidelines for food cost, labor, and sales growth.
  • Coordinate and implement current operations game plans and company initiatives.
  • Be accountable for proper staffing and training of the restaurant team.
  • Actively participate in Local Restaurant Marketing in the local trade area.
  • Implement and promote all Public Safety Foundation initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness and participation in community affairs for sales and public relations opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with the GM/Owner regarding any business-impacting issues.
  • Maintain restaurant equipment in full working order.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 13 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Cash handling skills required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office required.
  • Top-notch customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a strong team.
  • Understanding of food and labor costs management.
  • Ability to understand and manage a Profit and Loss Statement.

  • Experience in team development and training.
  • Previous experience in the fast casual restaurant industry.
