About the position

The General Manager at Jimmy John's is responsible for overseeing all aspects of in-store operations, ensuring that the store runs efficiently and meets brand standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage staffing, food safety, inventory, and cash handling while maintaining a high level of operational integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of in-store operations including staffing and scheduling.
  • Ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations.
  • Manage inventory and stock ordering effectively.
  • Control cost of goods sold (COGS) and cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain exceptional store order and cleanliness.
  • Train and coach employees on their duties and responsibilities.
  • Handle fast-paced and high-stress situations in the store.
  • Organize and establish priorities with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and scoop throughout assigned shifts.
  • Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F.
  • Ability to work a 40+ hour week.
  • Jimmy John Manager Certification required.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to perform, teach, and train all aspects of Assistant Manager, PIC, InShopper, and Delivery Driver positions.
