About the position

The General Manager at Studyville is responsible for overseeing the academic workspace that provides tutoring and school services to middle and high school students. This leadership role focuses on ensuring a high-quality customer experience, managing staff, and promoting the Studyville mission within the community.

Responsibilities

• Communicating effectively with students and families
• Being attentive to the learning needs of all Studyville students
• Planning Studyville resources such as staffing, training and development
• Assuring facilities always offer a cool, clean, safe and inviting space for students
• Developing relationships with students to ensure comfort and inform staff on learning needs
• Making referrals to tutors based on student needs and tutor capabilities
• Attracting and recruiting effective tutors and necessary staff
• Overseeing and supervising tutors in meeting Studyville objectives
• Assuring daily operational records are current and maintained
• Conducting regular staff evaluations and reviews
• Developing and providing staff training to assure compliance with policies and best practices
• Executing local marketing events to attract and retain students
• Regularly meeting with parents/guardians
• Being positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging to all staff, students, and families
• Making presentations to local schools and organizations
• Reporting daily to upper level executives

Requirements

• College Degree completed in Education, Business or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Very strong interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership skills for cultivating a positive work culture
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
• Customer service experience of 1 year preferred
