About the position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our employee cafeteria within a government facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in cafeteria, catering, or fast casual. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a keen understanding of food production and inventory control. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality experience while managing staff and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are met consistently by training and supervising staff.
  • Oversee food production processes to maintain quality and safety standards in accordance with food handling regulations.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
  • Implement effective POS systems to streamline transactions and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new customers while retaining existing ones.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional growth among staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Address customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in fine dining or hospitality management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of food production processes, kitchen operations, and inventory control practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and their application in restaurant operations.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team effectively while promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation is a plus but not required.
  • Must possess valid food handling certifications as required by local health regulations.
