About the position

The General Manager at St. George & Associates is responsible for overseeing the Santa Barbara office's operations, managing a team of on-site managers, and ensuring high-quality service in student housing property management. This role requires frequent travel to Santa Barbara, where the manager will handle a portfolio of commercial properties and ensure compliance with property management policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of lease management, including processing applications, lease signings, move-ins/outs, and regulatory notices.
• Utilize Rent Manager for processing resident payments and maintaining tenant files and ledgers.
• Ensure properties meet all Property Management Policies, Procedures, codes, and government regulations.
• Provide management, leadership, and performance guidance to property staff.
• Execute comprehensive inspection processes for each property, completing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections as needed.
• Interface with Senior Staff and Accounting team to ensure contract compliance and prepare accurate, timely reports.
• Actively participate in leasing and team meetings to ensure smooth communication between leasing and property management.
• Address resident grievances with professionalism and provide effective problem resolution.

Requirements

• Experience in property management or a related field, including team management.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with landlord-tenant regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Rent Manager or similar property management software is a significant plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team, exercise sound judgment, and manage challenges effectively.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and task-focused, with good telephone etiquette.
