About the position

The General Manager at Hwy 55 is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a well-stocked and clean environment. This role emphasizes the principles of Servant Leadership, requiring the manager to lead by example and foster a supportive team atmosphere. The General Manager will also be involved in financial oversight, staff management, and operational efficiency to drive profitability and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain food costs by ensuring efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
  • Estimate food and beverage costs and supervise portion control to minimize waste.
  • Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service.
  • Supervise restaurant operations to maximize teamwork, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan marketing, advertising, and special restaurant functions in collaboration with other management personnel.
  • Direct hiring, training, and scheduling of food service personnel.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Review expenditures with financial personnel to ensure compliance with budget limitations.
  • Work to improve performance and perform other duties as assigned by higher management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable but not required.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Stamina and drive to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule availability.

  • Practical restaurant experience or business education is preferred but not required.
