About the position

The General Manager at Centro Restaurant Group is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive environment for both staff and guests at the Nicollet/Eat Street location. This role involves overseeing all Front of the House (FOH) staff, managing food and labor costs, and ensuring consistency and quality control for both food and service. The General Manager plays a crucial role in fostering teamwork, mentoring staff, and enhancing the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all FOH staff and create team buy-in through delegating tasks and providing continuous coaching.
  • Maintain proper documentation for employee files and assist with performance evaluations and goal-setting.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to ensure staff training objectives are met.
  • Oversee shift cuts and push backs during managing shifts and assist with FOH scheduling.
  • Assist with FOH hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain CRG hospitality standards by educating and holding staff accountable to these standards.
  • Acquire a deep understanding of CRG's service model and online ordering system.
  • Participate in on-the-floor service, particularly during peak hours, and actively interact with guests.
  • Resolve customer complaints and maintain consistency and quality control across all food and beverage offerings.
  • Implement company-wide procedures and standards of operation, including expo and take-out protocol.
  • Problem-solve tech issues as they arise and communicate restaurant maintenance needs.
  • Monitor restaurant ordering and inventory needs.
  • Exhibit professionalism, poise, and compassion as a role model for leadership.
  • Attend leadership meetings and internalize responsibility for developing oneself and staff.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Supervision and mentorship skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and openness to constructive criticism
  • Experience working with diverse teams
  • Conversational Spanish skills preferred but not required
