About the position

The General Manager will oversee three manufacturing facilities, including one in China, managing all operations and engineering. This role is vital for driving safety, quality, delivery, and profitability within a Fortune 500 global manufacturing company that has expanded rapidly through acquisitions. The position requires a strategic leader with manufacturing expertise to promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering, quality control, production planning, and logistics to ensure productivity and cost efficiency.
• Align manufacturing operations with strategic objectives and monitor performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the President of China on global business performance.
• Work with executive leadership on long-term strategic plans and assess market trends with Sales.
• Lead initiatives for global expansion and customer satisfaction.
• Manage the P&L and budgeting process, ensuring financial goals are met.
• Analyze data to boost profitability and implement cost-saving measures.
• Inspire high-performing teams, mentor future leaders, and foster a collaborative culture.
• Set performance expectations and encourage innovation.
• Build strong relationships with key customers and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Advanced Degree preferred; Bachelor's required
• 15+ years in manufacturing and/or operational leadership
• Ability to reside in Iowa or NW Illinois; no telecommute or remote option
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, preferably in belt/rubber materials
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Minimum 3 years managing multiple projects
