About the position
The General Manager at Panera Cafe is responsible for leading a team in a popular neighborhood bakery-cafe, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering extraordinary guest experiences. This role emphasizes building a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust while managing staffing, training, and performance to achieve business goals and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
- Build our culture of Warmth, Belonging, Growth, and Trust.
- Ensure extraordinary guest experiences by delighting customers with quality food and service.
- Own all aspects of leading, managing, and developing your team.
- Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, and career development.
- Lead ongoing training and coaching for team members.
- Hire and train new team members, keeping the team motivated and engaged.
- Manage team performance to meet cafe goals and quality standards.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality operations and service.
- Grow sales and maximize profitability through effective management of labor and costs.
Requirements
- Three years management experience (preferred)
- Proven ability to direct, motivate, coach, and develop others in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to drive positive results
- Proven ability to run great shifts
- Demonstrated understanding of the business
- ServSafe certification
- At least 18 years of age
