About the position

The Tavern Group is seeking an entrepreneurial spirited General Manager for the newly renovated Otto's Taproom & Grille in Brewerytown, Philadelphia. This role is pivotal in ensuring the overall success of the restaurant operations, focusing on engaging the local community with inspired food and beverage offerings. The General Manager will lead a dynamic team, oversee efficient operations, and maintain high standards of quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Create an unforgettable food, beverage, and service experience
• Provide leadership, development, and motivation to the team
• Partner with back of house to ensure a cohesive mission
• Design strategies and set goals for growth
• Oversee the development of short and long term financial and operational plans
• Foster an excited customer base and strengthen community outreach
• Maintain profit and loss controls, inventory levels, and labor monitoring
• Prepare regular reports for management and lead team meetings
• Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations

Requirements

• 2+ years proven experience in restaurant management
• Aspiring, influential, hands-on leader
• Experience in planning and budgeting
• Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, operations)
• Strong analytical ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Effective conflict resolution skills
• Experience with hiring, training, and maintaining operational excellence
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food/beverage equipment maintenance
• Excellent professional presentation
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job (mobility, standing, walking, lifting)
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• RAMP and ServSafe Certified
• College degree in hospitality preferred but not required
