About the position

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teachers for part-time after-school tutoring sessions. The role involves teaching K-8 math, with a preference for candidates who can also teach Algebra and Integrated Math. Teachers will work with small groups of up to three students, using pre-planned lessons to foster a fun and engaging learning environment. This position offers flexible scheduling and eliminates the need for lesson planning, grading, or parent conferences, allowing teachers to focus solely on instruction and student motivation.

Responsibilities

• Teach K-8 math in a small group setting of no more than three students.
• Utilize pre-planned lessons that are straightforward and engaging.
• Motivate and inspire students to achieve academic success.
• Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
• Teaching Credential is recommended but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of K-8 math concepts.
• Knowledge of Algebra/Integrated Math 1 or higher is strongly preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must have reliable transportation and be local.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience teaching K-12 math or above is preferred.
