About the position

The General Production Worker at Tyson Foods is responsible for processing, screening, and packaging products to meet customer expectations while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves maintaining personal hygiene, inspecting products, and ensuring cleanliness in the production area. The position requires flexibility to rotate through various production tasks and to train new team members.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product on various lines for foreign material and ensure it meets customer specifications.
• Properly stack product to maintain accurate case counts.
• Assemble and tape boxes quickly to keep up with production lines.
• Pack product in boxes according to customer specifications, ensuring proper weight and count.
• Train new hires and transferred team members as needed.
• Learn all general production positions and rotate through them regularly.
• Follow general manufacturing, safety, and quality processes accurately.
• Communicate any product, equipment, quality, safety, or HR concerns to the lead or supervisor immediately.
• Complete ongoing production, quality, safety, and other required training.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area, keeping it free of debris and returning tools/equipment at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• Ability to perform duties on GPW Training Checklist job tasks within the expected training period.
• Ability to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
• Effective communication skills with colleagues and management in a professional manner.
• Ability to read and understand GMP operation standards, manuals, and related documentation.
