About the position
Aerotek is seeking Assemblers for a medical manufacturing company located in northern Asheville, NC. This position is for the first shift, with opportunities for overtime available. The role involves selecting appropriate components and assembling them in the correct sequence, which may include drilling holes, adding rivets, screws, bolts, braces, tape, cement, or solder to meet specific manufacturing specifications. Assemblers will be responsible for reading electrical wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly and inspecting parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure that the unit meets specified quality standards before moving it to the next workstation. Additionally, the role requires the use of a variety of hand tools, including drills, rivet guns, and drill presses. Once the units are assembled, the Assemblers will test the final products, clean them, and pack them for shipment.
Responsibilities
- Select appropriate components to align and assemble them in accurate sequence.
- Drill holes, add rivets, screws, bolts, braces, tape, cement, or solder to meet specifications.
- Read electrical wiring diagrams to accomplish accurate assembly.
- Inspect parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure quality standards are met.
- Use a wide range of hand tools, including drill, rivet gun, and drill press.
- Test assembled units, clean, and pack the final product.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Must be comfortable with submitting to a drug test (post-offer, pre-employment).
