About the position

The General Sales Manager at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson is responsible for overseeing the sales department operations, ensuring high-quality customer service, and managing the performance of sales associates. This role is crucial in maintaining profitability and efficiency within the sales department while fostering a positive work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all operations of new and pre-owned vehicle sales.
  • Ensure the sales department contributes acceptable levels of gross and net profit.
  • Train and motivate sales personnel, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Manage sales, trade-ins, and delivery of all new and used vehicles.
  • Maintain established procedures for timely and proper completion of paperwork.
  • Provide high-quality vehicle sales to customers using proactive sales techniques.
  • Greet customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Ensure customers are properly qualified for their needs and ability to buy.
  • Develop a consistent quotation methodology for vehicle sales and trade-ins.
  • Maintain sales follow-up programs and budgeted revenue objectives.
  • Provide performance reports to GM / Director of Sales as requested.
  • Attend training sessions to stay current with sales department issues.
  • Establish departmental work schedules and balance employee workloads.
  • Train Sales Associates in consistent sales methodologies.
  • Manage employee performance and conduct timely performance reviews.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees.

Requirements

  • Ability to get along with a broad customer base.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in sales of KTM/Triumph motorcycles or ability to learn quickly.
  • Proactive and self-controlled work ethic; self-starter.
  • Good organizational and excellent time management skills.
  • Exceptional people skills and rapport building.
  • Experience with inventory management required.
  • Ability to achieve sales quotas.
  • Excellent closing skills.
