About the position

The General Service Maintenance Technician at Pape Automotive Inc. is responsible for maintaining customers' vehicles in optimal condition through routine maintenance, light repairs, and inspections. Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and battery replacements.
• Inspect vehicles for safety, reliability, and performance, including brakes, tires, and suspension.
• Replace and repair minor vehicle components (lights, filters, belts, wiper blades, etc.).
• Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate records in the Shop-Ware Software system, including clear, concise notes about the repair, recommendations, and inspection photos.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Stay up to date with automotive service trends, tools, and techniques.
• Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technical training is a plus.
• Previous experience in an automotive service or repair environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic automotive systems and repair techniques.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Valid driver's license.
