About the position

The General Services Manager at Community Services for Children is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CSC Downtown Campus. This role involves coordinating repairs and maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and acting as a liaison between the organization and its landlord. The position requires collaboration with maintenance specialists and includes light maintenance tasks, inventory management, and support for facility-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all safety regulations are met
  • Meet all Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards required for safety of classrooms and playground
  • Act as the point of contact for any issues that arise onsite
  • Serve as a liaison between Community Services for Children and the landlord
  • Schedule and coordinate repairs and maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds
  • Maintain detailed records of parking and building security ID badges
  • Respond to and resolve facility-related issues and complaints
  • Maintain inventory of supplies
  • Conduct facilities safety training during new employee orientation
  • Account for all deliveries made to the agency and accurately track receipts and bills of lading (BOLs)
  • Support event set-up/clean-up and office/equipment moves
  • Complete light maintenance tasks including removing trash and debris and cleaning/mopping floors
  • Complete and fill out work orders related to maintenance tasks
  • Assist with parking and parent drop-off and pick-up
  • Provide support to front desk operations
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in the maintenance trades
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to read and understand basic drawings and blueprints
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of trades (Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry)
  • Obey all safety requirements and procedures at all times
  • Basic proficiency with applicable technology including Microsoft Office, internet, email applications, etc.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse community and all levels of agency constituents
  • Effective time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Able to complete work within time and scheduling constraints
  • Able to establish work priorities
  • Self-motivated and personally accountable
