About the position

The General Store Manager at Dairy Queen is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing the dining room and kitchen functions. This role involves leading a team, optimizing sales and profits, and maintaining a positive and safe environment for both customers and employees. The manager will also be involved in hiring, training, and developing staff while implementing marketing strategies to attract new customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage dining room and kitchen functions to ensure an excellent fan experience.
  • Greet and welcome fans enthusiastically to the Dairy Queen brand.
  • Exceed fan expectations through timely and quality service.
  • Develop the restaurant's business plan and manage profit & loss to optimize sales.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop the store management team and hourly crew members.
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment for fans and team members.
  • Ensure Food Safety is prioritized in store operations and enforce safe food handling practices.
  • Incorporate PRIDE systems and routines into daily operations to set shifts up for success.
  • Resolve fan concerns and embrace Dairy Queen's service recovery standards.
  • Develop and implement marketing promotions and activities to attract new fans and increase sales.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service restaurants.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong hospitality and customer service skills.
  • Proven track record of managing COGS and labor effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of safe food handling practices and must be ServSafe certifiable.
  • Excellent track record of coaching and developing employees.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable standing for entire shifts and able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in and out of different temperature ranges.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the capability to oversee multiple aspects of the business.
