General Stores Leader, Production Control

About the position

The General Stores Leader at Toyota's North Carolina Battery Plant is responsible for overseeing the General Stores warehouse function, ensuring the integrity of the supply chain. This role involves leading a team that supplies essential materials for operations, managing vendor relationships, and supporting inventory management to maintain production efficiency. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Stores warehousing team that supplies spare parts, indirect chemicals, direct raw materials, and consumables.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective communication.
• Coach and develop team members while solving problems as they arise.
• Oversee KPI management and reporting, including FMDS Boards.
• Implement contingency and crisis management strategies.
• Support ideal inventory management to keep production lines operational.
• Meet or exceed Hoshin targets for Production Control/TBMNC.
• Complete Time Entry and manage HR issues daily.
• Adjust staffing conditions based on operational needs.
• Ensure tools and equipment are ready prior to shift start.
• Demonstrate shift flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Requirements

• Management experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in inventory management.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to create and execute strategic direction.
• Experience with Hoshin execution and technical problem-solving (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP/Ariba systems.
• Experience using KPIs for goal setting and process management.
• Bachelor's or associate degree.
