About the position
The General Superintendent, Pipe position at Worley is a critical role within the construction site management team, primarily focused on overseeing a large group of forepeople in a specific trade on a construction site. This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure that all construction activities are executed efficiently and safely. The General Superintendent will be tasked with scheduling, workface planning, coordinating, and supervising the trade crews while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. Additionally, the role involves monitoring costs and quality control to maintain project integrity and efficiency. In this role, the General Superintendent will plan the work and allocate the workforce in designated areas to maintain an adequate manpower balance for scheduled construction activities. This includes monitoring manpower requirements, efficiency, and productivity of construction crews, as well as understanding and applying the company's labor relations policies. The position requires effective communication with staff and the construction management team, with an emphasis on the ability to persuade and influence others, as well as recognizing and resolving conflicts that may arise on site. The General Superintendent will also be expected to have an advanced understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to the trade, enabling them to assist others and troubleshoot issues effectively. They may also be involved in the development of new systems, processes, and tools to enhance operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the construction site operates smoothly and that all team members are aligned with the project's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Direct a large group of forepeople in a single trade on a construction site.

Requirements
- Typically has 12+ years of experience in construction management.
- Journey level certification if required for the specific trade.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence others.
- Advanced understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to trade.
- Experience in monitoring costs and quality control.
