About the position

The General Superintendent at Worley is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of heavy equipment operations on construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient use of heavy machinery, compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. The Superintendent will lead a team of equipment operators, optimize productivity, and foster a culture of safety and teamwork, ultimately driving project success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.
  • Develop and execute equipment maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment issues promptly and ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements, timelines, and priorities.
  • Plan and allocate equipment resources to projects based on project needs and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate equipment movement and deployment between different project sites as required.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, training sessions, and equipment inspections to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of equipment operators, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Monitor equipment performance, fuel consumption, and productivity levels to identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on equipment utilization, maintenance activities, and performance metrics to management.
  • Ensure equipment operators follow project specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operations and supervision, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in project management software, equipment tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
